Birtukan Tibebe--or as she's known publicly, Berta Vazquez--is a Ukrainian actress renowned for playing La Rizos in the television series Locked Up. Born in Kiev, Ukraine to a Ukrainian mother and an Ethiopian father, at only three years old she moved from Kiev to live with a host family in Elche, Spain, with whom she has lived ever since. Her entertainment career began with dance lessons at age 13. She then tried her hand at music, auditioning for 'The Voice--Spain' in 2013. She has appeared in several acclaimed short films including 'L'Agent" and 'Las Pequeñas Cosas', and she also brought to life Bisila in the 2015 film 'Palm Trees in the Snow.' She began dating fellow actor Mario Casas in 2014. In 2016, she joined the cast of 'En Tu Cabeza' alongside Rossy de Palma and Michelle Jenner. In 2015, she won a role in 'Vis a Vis', the new prison series of Antena. Berta played the role of Estefanía Kabila, an inmate who faces a 3-year sentence for robbery and injuries; she was involved with the series for 18 months.
Beaumont broke into show business in Memphis, Tennessee with an act known as 'Wells, Dunn and Harlan,' after being discovered by actor Otis Harlan. She played on stage in the chorus and later played leading roles. Married to actor Jack Arnold, they entered vaudeville and had a successful run appearing in a number of hits including: 'Miss Nobody From Starland' and 'A Modern Eve.' An excellent dancer, she injured her back and moved to Los Angeles.
