Cody Daniel was born in Arlington, Texas to Mark and Sheila Daniel. His father is a nuclear engineer for a popular Texas power company. His Mother was in marketing. He has a younger brother (Brayden) and a younger sister (Kaydence). While he was only in the sixth grade he auditioned for the high school play, "MAME" and landed the lead role of Patrick. Cody then decided to play hockey as a goaltender. He won his first hockey National Championship at the age of 14. Cody attended a prestigious goal tending academy at the age of 16. He later progressed to a professional career in hockey and he played until the age of 24. While listening to the radio one day, he heard about TV shows in Dallas needing background actors and the fire for acting was reborn. He landed several small roles in commercials and independent films. While working on the TV shows Chase and The Good Guys, he began taking acting, stunts and weapons training classes. Cody would spend three seasons working on the TV show Dallas. During season 2 of the show "Dallas" Cody landed a speaking role on the last episode which would give him the SAG Eligibility that he had worked so hard to earn. Cody later went on to work on the movie Olympus Has Fallen doing stunts. He currently works on various TV Shows, films, commercials and print work.

Cody Deal made his Hollywood debut by starring in the the Syfy Original Movie, Almighty Thor (2011), opposite Richard Grieco and Patricia Velasquez. Cody grew up in Sedan, Kansas (pop. 1,000) and worked on a local ranch every summer bucking hay to help support his family starting in the 6th-grade through his senior year in high school. He graduated Valedictorian of his class, as well as Senior Class President, and 1st-Team All-State shooting Forward averaging 20.4 points per game. He dreamt of playing professional sports, but his aspirations were cut short when he injured his hand and forearm in two different sport-related injuries. His aspirations turned to acting, heading to Las Vegas for a brief stint, and working with acting coach Gerald Gordon (who also coached Oscar-winner Adrien Brody. With a month of acting training, he traveled to Los Angeles to audition for the title role in Marvel's Thor (2011). It was literally his first audition in LA. Three months later, he packed his bags and moved to Los Angeles from Vegas. 18 months later he would book his first starring role as the same character, but in the film Almighty Thor (2011). He has since studied with Ivana Chubbuck, Sharon Chatten, and Janet Alhanti. Cody is also Osage, a historic tribe of Native American people. Today there are as few as 13,000 Osage, Deal and his family being amongst them.

Cody Dickinson is what one might call an artistic entrepreneur in the fields of music and film. Over the course of his career Cody has contributed to several major motion picture soundtracks, including Barnyard, Snoop's Hood of Horror, The Mechanic, and Black Snake Moan. In recent years Cody has transitioned from creating music for films to producing films. Cody's remarkable ability for filmmaking emerged after he began producing short videos documenting the experiences of North Mississippi Allstars on tour. After accumulating years of footage from the road, Cody turned the band's experiences in to a visual narrative for the North Mississippi Allstars 2014 album World Boogie Is Coming. Cody's most recent achievement in film is the award-winning documentary he produced, Take Me to the River. An incredible journey through the music of Memphis, the film brings multiple generations of award-winning Memphis and Mississippi Delta musicians together and captures the creative process of recording a historic new album. Cody also co-produced the soundtrack for the documentary, which pairs music legends and contemporary artists as they reinterpret songs that define the soul of American music. Perhaps best known as the drummer and founding member of North Mississippi Allstars, Cody continues to be one of the music industry's premier drummers, demonstrated by his 2013 Blues Music Awards nomination in the 'Best Instrumentalist/Drums' category. He's earned three Grammy nominations as a member of North Mississippi Allstars and shared the stage with the likes of Robert Plant, the Allman Brothers, Mavis Staples, and Patty Griffin among others. As a music producer, Cody has worked with a wide range of musicians including Lucero, Cisco Adler, and Les Claypool. He also produced British blues guitarist Ian Siegal's last 2 albums, The Skinny (2011) and Candystore Kid (2012), both of which were nominated for 'Best Contemporary Blues Album' at the annual Blues Music Awards.
