Drew Van Acker was born in Omaha, Nebraska, but grew up in Medford, New Jersey. He began acting in high school drama classes, where he also played multiple sports. His abilities led him to a scholarship at Towson University in Maryland. While attending Towson, Drew took a number of theater courses in order to refocus on acting. He then made the decision to move to New York City, followed by a move to Los Angeles.

John Andrew (Drew) Youngblood is an Atlanta-based SAG-eligible 13-year old actor who has received critical acclaim for his strong emotional performances, most recently as a guest star in season four of the CBS hit series "Bull" and in a supporting role in the film "To Leslie" starring Allison Janney and Andrea Riseborough which premiered at SXSW 2022. Drew is homeschooled and a gifted writer (winning region-wide contests), pianist, and guitarist. He has a passion for video game coding, film and television scores and soundtracks, and developing his own scripts and story ideas. Taking regular weekly classes since the start of his acting journey in the summer of 2017, Drew studies under the direction of Richard Hempton, a 30-year film industry veteran and acting coach, and has spent the COVID-19 shutdown learning British, Russian, and multiple American dialects.
Drew began his acting career in the theatre in and around Toronto. With starring roles in multiple shows including Death of a Salesman, Bell Book and Candle and Curious Savage he sought out a path in film and television. He has appeared in over 70 Canadian and U.S. commercials including playing the football referee who "blew the call" in Subway's famous commercials. He appears in several episodes of Canadian and U.S. episodic TV. Drew lives north of Toronto with his family.
