Eric Matheny is an actor, screenwriter, director, producer, and co-founder of The Acting Center, Los Angeles. Matheny played movie star Joseph Cotten in Andrew Dominick's "Blonde," (2021), Dr. Max Jacobson (Dr. Feelgood) opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in Clint Eastwood's "J. Edgar," and the series lead on "That Guy," a FOX TV pilot directed by Betty Thomas. He has starred in several movies of the week including "The Beach Boys: An American Family," and guest starred or recurred on numerous prime-time hit shows including: "Charmed," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "CSI," "NCIS," and "Bones." Matheny started acting in Atlanta, Georgia at age 13. At age 16, he made his network TV debut as the star of the Emmy-nominated ABC Movie of the Week, "Run Down the Rabbit," opposite Roger E. Mosely. Matheny's original screenplay "Watershed," is in pre-production with Nick Quested (Goldcrest Films) directing, and Brent Emery (Stanford Prison Experiment), Goldcrest Films, and Matheny producing. Eric co-wrote the original screenplay "America" with Isa Totah and Will Potter. Oscar-winner Mark Johnson (Chronicles of Narnia) is on board to produce. Matheny also co-wrote "Lately" with Juliette Lewis, in pre-production with Killer Films. The Acting Center is Matheny's passion project, where he and his co-founders developed a revolutionary technique that trains some of Hollywood's biggest names and freshest faces. Eric is a Las Vegas based filmmaker, award winning director and producer, who is known for creating horror films. Originally from Monroe, Louisiana, Eric started his career in music videos but quickly moved to his first love, horror films. Eric worked on several independent horror films and learned many of the different jobs ranging from production assistant to second AC. Eric landed a couple of films with cult filmmaking studio Full Moon Features and he really started to develop his own style as he progressed through the ranks on different sets. Eric ultimately moved in to his current role, his true passion, directing, with his first project being a werewolf concept short based off of the Louisiana werewolf called "Rougarou". Eric was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. He attended Stephen Leacock Collegiate Institute (the same school Mike Myers attended) and also attended Sir John A. MacDonald Collegiate, named after Canada's first Prime Minister. With the support of his parents (his father was also an aspiring actor), Eric spent three years at the Ryerson Theater School in Toronto and the Banff Center for the Arts, and went on to spend five seasons with Canada's Stratford Festival - he graduated 'lead' status in such stage classics as "A Midsummer Night's Dream", "Henry V" and "The Three Sisters". Eric then moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, where he also moved into television and movies and gained a devoted following of fans. Eric makes his home in both Vancouver and Los Angeles.
