A Ph.D., a journalist, a naturalist, an expert falconer, a racing car driver, JRJ was certainly a man of many talents. He entered the film industry quite late in life (37) after he was spotted serving as MC for a local music hall. He became a familiar figure on-screen after a succession of "larger than life" roles during the 40s and 50s, and particularly as Sir Lancelot Spratt in the "Doctor" film series.

James Robinson is a Scottish actor/producer born in Glasgow. Making his screen debut as the young William Wallace in Mel Gibson's Oscar-winning blockbuster, Braveheart, he has gone on to appear in Danny Boyle's highly acclaimed "Babylon" and Neil Jordan's historical epic "The Borgias" with Jeremy Irons and Gina McKee. He has guest-starred on BBC's "Doctors" and "Casualty", and as Greg Edgars in Sony/ Starz's "Outlander". Most recently he has wrapped in filming 'Washington' for the History Channel US and Icon Films, starring as Alexander Hamilton. Over the past decade, Robinson has appeared in numerous theatre productions such as National Theatre of Scotland's 'In Time O' Strife', York Theatre Royal's 'Brassed Off' and in The National Theatre's 'Macbeth', directed by Rufus Norris. For radio, Robinson played the title role in Almost Tangible's 'Macbeth' (New York Radio Festival's Grand Prize Winner 2019) for which he Won Audio Production Awards 2019 'Audio Performer of the Year'.
