One of his highlights was working with Clint Eastwood and Bradley Cooper in "American Sniper," where James and Bradley ad-libbed a lot of their dialogue due to a malfunction Bradley had with his rifle. James continued his theatre credits, working at the renowned Oregon Shakespeare Festival as a company member for 5 seasons, receiving critical acclaim for his roles in "Vietgone," "Beauty and the Beast," "Between Two Knees," and "Cambodian Rock Band," among others.
