The show, which premiered summer 2017 to fantastic reviews, is loosely based on Joanna Coles who serves as chief content officer at Hearst Magazines and previously served as editor in chief of Cosmo Magazine. Katie Stuart is a multi-talented actress and stunt performer from Vancouver, British Columbia. Katie began her work in the entertainment industry at a young age taking beginner acting classes with the Vancouver Youth Theatre which lead to her recruitment to the industry. Katie began her exploration in the stunt community when she met a young stunt performer on the set of Showtime's "Dead Like Me" who took her under his wing and introduced her to the Vancouver stunt community, effectively launching her secondary career as an action hero. Katie began training gymnastics, martial arts, driving, and air rams. She also completed a five-month intensive program in Wilderness Leadership which included practical, crash courses in ocean and whitewater kayaking, rafting, canoeing, and sailing. In 2009, Katie returned to her roots in theater. She moved to Montreal to attend Concordia University and graduated with a bachelor of Fine Arts, specializing in Theater and Development. This included a two-month semester abroad, studying Jing Ju (Chinese Opera) in Beijing. Katie chose to focus on physicality and movement for her electives and completed courses in Comedia del Arte, Biomechanics, Corporeal Mime, and Stage Combat. In her last year at university, Katie had the pleasure of combining her love of physicality, stunt work, and theater, by choreographing the on-stage action for a brilliant piece of musical theater, entitled Hazards of Love: A Folk Opera, set to the Decemberists' album of the same name. Katie Stuart first became involved in the entertainment field through baby beauty pageants, where her love of performing really came to life. She began doing commercial ads as a child and some of them include Pet Co. and Invisalign braces. She was a series regular ("Sarah") on the children's show Adventures with Kanga Roddy (1998), at age 11. She soon moved onto a recurring role on the prime-time soap, Titans (2000) and, eventually, a heavy-recurring and quite prominent role on ABC's General Hospital (1963). She is now 20 years old and beginning a major film career. On top of that, she is a singer/songwriter and a college student at USC. She currently lives with her brother, Ken Stuart, in Los Angeles, California.
