LuvLeighAn is an up-and-coming filmmaker, who uses her life and dreams to write stories. She likes to live above the standards others have set for her. She was told that being dyslexic and a former foster kid she would never finish high school, nor attend college and would be dead on the street before the age of 20. LuvLeighAn has 9 college degrees (as of 2018), has never been in trouble with the law, and has lived long past the age of 20. She still works at defying those that tell her she will not make it as a writer because of a few shortcomings. But after stepping on her first film set in 1997 as an extra (after walking to Los Angles from Michigan to work in film). She knew she wanted to tell stories to people. The film set confused her because they did not go in order of the script. So, she left the film and went and worked on her BA in Theatre and worked on plays for 4 years. But LuvLeighAn learned that she enjoyed watching Theatre more than she did working on them. And went back to California (2007) and started working on film sets as an extra. LuvLeighAn soon learned that she had more passion for working behind the camera than in front of the camera. To further this skill-set she attended Los Angeles City Colleges Film School. Where she learned that she was more skilled at the paperwork and picking scripts that would make money. She also tried her hand at writing again. Writing has always been a love of LuvLeighAn, but she allowed others' disapprovals to foster the fear of falling - stopping her from sharing her work with others. Years later she shared poems on social media. One such poem was, "Sex is my Cocaine" that she later learned a band had stolen turning it into a song when she sat in the audience to see a performer she knew at the time, one of the warm-up bands with a female singer was signing her poem. She took down all her poems and kept things hidden away for years. But later she decided that if her writing was good enough to steal, it was good enough to sell or get employment in a writers' room. She still is working on crafting her writing and storytelling skills. She likes to pick projects that make people think about how they treat others and themselves. LuvLeighAn feels that filmmakers have an obligation to help improve society and show people how we can co-exist while being our own person. To understand each other and not hate someone just because we do not understand or agree with them. LuvLeighAn uses her physical disabilities, her autism, ADHD, and dyslexia in addition to her childhood traumas in her adopted home, foster care, and even trauma from her adult life, to create worlds that she writes about, to make people stop and think about how they treat others. LuvLeighAn also writes from dreams she has. She has been told by other writers that she is strange in how she dreams. But she feels that this helps her create more stories, and helps her understand others, even when she has not lived through their life. LuvLeighAn's long-term goals are to be a Showrunner and Film Producer. Though she does not want to direct all her own projects she does wish to work as a Director for her projects and others that she can see in her mind's eye. LuvLeighAn also wants to be the person that finds the next great project. She believes that Creative Producers should not just find the same stories that we have been seeing and reading, but the new ones that we do not know if will be the hit we envision. But life is meant to be an adventure. And that adventure starts with taking chances on new ideas. The next adventure is only a script away from the big screen. Will you be courageous enough to take a leap into this next adventure, and tell the untold, un-recycled stories? Come on, we can do it together. An adventure awaits -
