A francophone of Vietnamese and Quebecois heritage, Mylène Dinh-Robic was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec. She graduated with distinction with a BA in Communications from Concordia University and completed a double major in Film & Multimedia Production. She studied acting with Nancy Sivak & Ben Ratner in Vancouver and with Gilles Plouffe and John Strasberg in Montreal. An actress now for over twenty years, she has worked on stage, on camera and in video games. She first played opposite actor Nicholas Campbell as Rita Mah, one of the main characters in the Vancouver produced television series Da Vinci's City Hall (CBC). Later, she worked in Toronto on 3 seasons of The listener (CTV) in the role of Dr. Olivia Fawcett. Mylène more recently performed in French in Radio-Canada's Montreal shot Plan B, Nouvelle Adresse and Série Noire. She was nominated in the best supporting actress category at the 2015 Montreal ACTRA Awards for her portrayal of Beatrice 'Bear' Hamelin in Bravo Canada's critically acclaimed cop drama '19-2' and was fortunate enough to portray 'Bear' for all 4 seasons of the show. Mylène's love of the theatre led to some wonderful artistic opportunities over the years. In 2007, She co-produced and co-starred in a Studio 16 production of Alan Bowne's controversial play 'Beirut' in Vancouver with her friend and fellow actor Adam Lolacher. She chose to co-produce and perform on stage again in 2011 when another friend, fellow actor Noah Davis, asked her to read his original stage play 'Point no Point'. Together, they co-produced and starred in a stage production of 'Point no Point' at Toronto's Tarragon Theatre. It was an honor for her to be asked to represent and be the spokesperson for Montreal's Festival Accès Asie in 2017. Her mother is Vietnamese and Mylène is very proud of her Vietnamese roots. The Festival holds a very important place in Montreal's storytelling landscape. It bridges gaps that need to be filled with a better appreciation of the city's many Asian artists and storytellers. Mylène was thrilled to help promote the incredible talent and work done by these fellow Asian artists in her own hometown. Her biggest achievements to date are her 4 year old son, Edward and her 5 year old daughter Élénore. They have enriched her journey, teach and remind her about the miracle of life every single day. She hopes to continue using her professional platform to raise awareness about her other passions: health & nutrition, safeguarding the earth's rapidly deteriorating biodiversity, finding eco-responsible and sustainable ways to thwart climate change and finally, the eradication of all unethical treatment and cruelty towards animals all over this beautiful planet we call home.
